Opera Neon is born To bring our vision to life, we put together a team of talented developers and designers to work on a unique prototype browser.Design elements adapted to our actions just as dragging or pressing. The design is very eye-catching and offers us a different point of view to Internet browsing in which aesthetics play an important role. Thus, the tabs have been replaced by bubbles which we can drag to our desktop if we want. ![]() The main new features of this new Opera we can be found in how we control websites, as it's focused on using gestures on a touchscreen. Browsing inspired by touchscreen gestures Opera Neon is the brand's latest development with the intention to revolutionize our browsing experience by means of a modern design without neglecting any of the functions that have turned Opera into of the best browsers. Su principal diferencia est en el sistema de control y gestin de pginas web, centrado en el control y movimiento de los elementos de pantalla en la realizacin de gestos. “However, some of its new features are expected to be added to Opera this spring,” the company notes in today’s announcement.Opera has always been one of the browsers committed to making the user experience evolve when it came to browsing the Internet. Opera Neon es un nuevo navegador totalmente desligado de la versin estndar de su producto. Opera stresses that this is meant to be a “concept browser.” It won’t replace Opera’s existing browser. While Opera Neon has lots of new features and many of the Opera browser features you know and love there are some key features we have not included, such as our native ad-blocker, VPN and the ability to add extensions. To be fair, Neon isn’t billing itself as a concept for power users (if that’s what you’re looking for, check out Vivaldi, which was started by Opera’s former CEO). I also like to organize my bookmarks into folders and that’s not currently an option in Opera Neon. Between the bubble tabs, the big icons, the giant URL bar, and even the focus on photos and videos in the side bars, the overarching vision behind Opera Neon is to make the web browser. If you heavily rely on your bookmarks (and especially your bookmarks bar), that doesn’t quite feel right and quickly leads to far more open tabs than necessary. Now, you have to open a new tab (even if you don’t want to) and then open your bookmark in that new tab. I’d rather have an easier way to get to my bookmarks than to open a new tab, for example. I’m not sure I like Neon’s new tab page, though, which is also your bookmarks page. Just like the standard Opera desktop browser, Neon uses the Blink engine, so it feels fast, too. I’m also a big fan of Opera’s existing pop-out video feature which also makes an appearance in Neon. Opera neon brings the URL to the forefront in the Omnibox - which is equivalent to the browser URL search box but much more prominent. I don’t mind the tabs on the side, for example, even though I never got used to the side-tab plugins for Chrome and Firefox (though I acknowledge that they do have their ardent fans). I can’t quite see myself switching to it as my main browser at this point (especially because it doesn’t support any plugins yet), but it does feature its fair share of interesting concepts. I spent the last day or so playing with Opera Neon. This same sidebar also features a screenshotting tool and access to your recent downloads.įor those of you with very large and wide screens, Opera Neon also allows you to place two browser tabs side-by-side within the same window (similar to the split-screen view on iOS or Android). There is also a sidebar on the left that lets you control audio and video playback (which you can also pop out so you can watch it even while you’re surfing in other tabs). ![]()
